At Marisart, our artistic identity is mainly defined by surrealism movement inspirations.
Surrealism is an art movement born in 1920 between World War I & II. It has appeared with the purpose of defying war horrors.
It is characterized by creativity freedom. In surrealism art, reality norms does not exist. It is a crossover between dream & fantasy but depicts real topics & problematics, often related to unconscious mind.
Some major artists of this movement are :
- The German painter Max Ernst who painted the “Angel of the home” also called Triumph of surrealism.
- The Spanish artist of surrealism Salvador Dali with his melting shapes appearing in his “ Persistance of the . memory“.
